With the start of the new year quickly approaching, I’ve started on a new adventure of blogging my crafting activities. And, it only seemed appropriate to use a new stamp set from the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog that will be available on January 4th. So, let’s get started.
If you’re like me, you never have enough masculine cards on hand. And, I really liked the combination of Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake with a touch of Watermelon Wonder and Night of Navy. This card uses a 5″x6.5″ card base in very vanilla.
This card is inspired by very talented Valerie Moody and features the Lift Me Up stamp and Up & Away Thinlit dies from the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog.
- Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
- Inks: Crumb Cake, Watermelon Wonder and Night of Navy
- Other SU products used: Timeless Textures stamp set (grid), and Detailed Floral Framelits (edge), Neutrals Designer Series Paper (DSP – Striped Crumb Cake), Big Shot Machine, Magnetic Platform, Cutting Pads, Stamp-a-ma-jig, and Snail adhesive
Cut: Very Vanilla cardstock sized 4.25″x 5.5″, Striped Crumb Cake DSP 4.5” x 6”
Using Crumb Cake ink, stamp the clouds on scrap pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock, then positioning the cloud dies over their stamped images before running them through the Big Shot Machine. Next sponge the edges of the clouds using Crumb Cake.
On a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock, stamp the small balloon in Night of Navy and the larger balloon in Watermelon Wonder. Position the balloon dies over their stamped images and run through the Big Shot.
Using a piece of Very Vanilla card stock sized 4.25″x 5.5″, position the Detailed Floral Framelits (edge piece) along the top short edge of the cardstock before running it through the Big Shot. Now check the length and width of this piece of Very Vanilla relative to the Striped Crumb Cake DSP. Trim the length and width of Very Vanilla piece for an even border (approximately a 1/8 inch border along the three sides), noting the extra margin at the top edge. Now, sponge the edges of the trimmed Very Vanilla piece and the Striped Crumb Cake DSP using Crumb Cake ink.
Using Crumb Cake ink and the grid stamp from Timeless Textures stamp set, stamp in the grid image in the lower right, near the edge of the cardstock (about ¾ inch from the bottom of the Very Vanilla piece). If necessary, use the Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement. Using Watermelon Wonder, stamp the sentiment slightly lower and to the left of the grid image (about ½ inch from the bottom edge of the Very Vanilla piece).
Use snail adhesive to finish assembling the card. Happy Crafting!
