Moonlight Tropics using Waterfront

Masking and sponging — all that’s necessary to make this moonlight tropical scene with the Waterfront photopolmer stamp set.

To create this card, you will need a post-it note pad, a 1-1/2 inch circle punch, a sponge cut into wedges, and aqua painter and Soft Sky, Dapper Denim and Tuxedo Black Memento ink pads.  I created a mask for the moon by punching a 1-1/2 inch circle out of a sticky end of a post-it note.

To create my scene, I placed the circle post-it note on a piece of Soft Sky cardstock.  Then, I lightly sponged Soft Sky ink around the moon and sponged Dapper Denim ink to create darker sky towards the top of the piece.

I used the straight edge of the post-it note, Memento ink and the long stamp from Waterfront stamp.  A little sponging above the island created the illusion of distance.  And, then stamped the palm trees in Memento ink.

The water was created by inking up the water image with Soft Sky and brushing it with my aqua painter before stamping the image.  I also picked up some ink from the lid to create the horizon and to add some additional color with my aqua painter.

The sentiment was added Memento ink from the Picture Perfect Stamp Set.  The edges of the moonlight stamped piece were sponged with Memento ink, matted on Whisper White cardstock and mounted on a retired piece of designer series paper.

Until next time, sending you crafting hugs and inspiration wishes!
