Heart Happiness

All we need is love….and Heart Happiness stamp set is perfect for sharing your love and your creativity with those special people closest to you!   This stamp set is full of hearts — because you can never have enough!  And, this stamp set coordinates nicely with Sweet & Sassy Framelits dies — so that you have even more creative options.

And while we often think of hearts with Valentine’s Day, they are truly appropriate for any occasion — thinking of you cards, thank you cards, wedding and anniversary, birthday cards and even sympathy cards.

During a recent snow day, I thoroughly enjoyed playing with these hearts.  Here are are some simple gift tags made in Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral using scraps of Whisper White cardstock, Ombre Ribbon in Calypso Coral and Baker’s Twine in Peekaboo Peach

Here I stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed White Embossing Powder on the floral outline heart image and the “love you” stamp from Lots of Love stamp set on Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  I stamped the large floral heart in Pear Pizzazz.  And using the fine tip of my Berry Burst Stampin’ Write Marker, I drew the outline around the flowers, which I subsequently colored with Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Marker.  I used my aqua painter to lift some Pear Pizzazz ink off the lid of the stamp pad to color the leaves in a softer shade of Pear Pizzazz.  All the hearts were die cut with Sweet & Sassy Framelits, and the background piece was dry embossed using my Big Shot Machine and the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

The card was embellished with Pearl Basic Jewels and Berry Burst Finely Woven Ribbon.  Here’s a close up of the large floral heart.

Christmas Cards – Past & Present

I love the holiday season and the joy of finding a Christmas card in my mailbox.  Christmas cards have been a traditional Christmas celebration since 1840’s.  They convey your warmest wishes and let family and friends know that they are valued and loved.

I particularly enjoy making handmade Christmas cards – selecting the design and sentiment – often months in advance.  As a creative endeavor, I believe that each hand made card is a personal gift to the recipient.  They have a sentimental value which is why people collect them and display them year after year.

I particularly enjoy receiving handmade cards.  And when these individual masterpieces include personal touches with family photos and newsletters, they offer yet another personal connection with the senders.

Here is a retrospective of the many beautiful Christmas cards that I have sent or received.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Sending crafting hugs and the warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

One of my favorite kits is Paper Pumpkin. It’s creative, unique, great for everyone from pre-teens on up, one-size-doesactually-fit-all, it’s delivered directly to the recipient for you, and you can purchase pre-paid gift subscriptions from 1 month to 1 year, so it fits any budget.  That is an awesome gift!  Just click on the link above to subscribe.

There are several other great kits found in the annual catalog on pages 8-17.  The Soft Sayings Card Kit (which comes with a refill kit) and Oh Happy Day Card Kit are both all-inclusive kits that include coordinating stamp sets, matching card bases and envelops and coordinating ribbons and embellishments.  They are ideal for a stamper who has some stamping supplies, but maybe not a lot of time to design.

The Hello Friend Heat Embossing Project Kit and coordinating Hello Friend stamp set is a wonderful option for the more advanced stamper with a stash of crafting tools and supplies.

And of course, purchasing bundles and/or selecting items within a product suite will provide you with many coordinating products that are sure to please the recipient!

Flurry of Wishes

Just like snowflakes, Christmas cards can be one-of-a-kind when you make them yourself.   If you have always wanted to make your own Christmas cards — here’s your chance!  Send a flurry of warm Christmas wishes with snowflake-adorned cards using the Flurry of Wishes stamp set.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets, and the coordinating Snow Flurry Punch is on clearance for 40% off (regularly $18, now $10.80).  This Snow Flurry punch will add interest and depth to your projects by punching out snowflakes and popping them up with dimensionals.

Believe me, there’s no better or easier way to cut out stamped images than using a punch!  Just stamp on cardstock or specialty paper.  Next, hold the punch upside down (so that you can see the hole punch) and insert the stamped image into the punch.  Align image with the hole, and slowly squeeze to keep the cardstock from moving.  Then snap the punch closed and the stamped image will pop out in your hand.  Easy Peasy!

Here are some gift packaging and card making ideas for using the Flurry of Wishes stamp set and the coordinating Snow Flurry Punch.

Merry Little Labels

Merry Little Christmas tag punches

Crafting without punches? Inconceivable! Punches are a quick and easy way to add interest and depth to your projects.  And there’s no better way to cut out stamped images—many of our stamp sets have coordinating punches.  Scalloped Tag Topper punch, Everyday Label punch and Banner Triple Punch — these punches are one’s that I absolutely use all of the time for stamping and crafting projects.  And the Everyday Label punch is available as part of the Merry Little Label bundle — so you can save 10% when you purchase both the stamp set and the punch together.

And, another great thing about making tags — its doesn’t take a lot of time and it is something that you can do watching TV or visiting with a friend.

Until next time, sending you crafting hugs and inspiration wishes!
