Sneak Peek: Carols of Christmas

For the month of August, you have the special opportunity to purchase the Carols of Christmas Stamp Set, Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies, or both in a bundle (and save 10%) a month before it is even released in the holiday catalog.

***If you earned Bonus Day coupons in July, they can be used to purchase these products.  Just click on the SHOP tab above or any of the links.

The stamp set includes two large sentiments which can be the focal point of your card design.  Here, I showcased the sentiment with silver heat embossing powder with simple layers of Whisper White, Tranquil Tide, Silver Foil and Vellum cardstock and bow tied with Cherry Cobbler satin ribbon (retired).

This stamp set is so versatile that it can be used for years to come!  The first card design is just a classic design with traditional colors — .  And, here is another card design using the exact same sentiment — do you think anyone would recognize it from the previous year?  Probably not.

For this second card, I sponged a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Rose Red, Peekaboo Peach and Garden Green ink.  Next, I stamped the tree image from Lovely as Tree using Archival Basic Black ink.  After waiting for the sponged ink to dry, I  swiped my Embossing Buddy are the card front piece to prevent extra embossing powder from sticking to my project.  Then, I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark, applied silver embossing powder and heat seat the sentiment with my heat tool.  To create the skyline, I first die cut the moon and stars from the Card Front Builders thinlits and then matted the piece on Silver Foil to allow the moon and stars to shine through the die cut holes.

And here is a quick video with other great card making ideas from Stampin’ Up!  You’ll love the idea on how to dress up the family photo!

Hello Friend Embossing Project Kit

Recently, I taught a stamp camp using the Hello Friend Embossing Project Kit and Hello Friend stamp set.  This was a great way to step-up my cardmaking and share several different embossing techniques to make the cards in the kit.

This kit contains all the supplies to make 15 cards – three of each design.  To make this kit, you need the following items:  Hello Friend stamp set plus have Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach and Powder Pink pads, VersaMark pad, aqua painters, dimensionals, glue dots, snail adhesive, stamp-a-ma-jig, heat tool, grid paper and strip of cardstock.

Tip #1:  Use the stamp-a-ma-jig tool to perfectly place sentiments on each of the punched label pieces by first temporarily holding the label punch in place with a tiny bit of snail adhesive.

Tip #2:   Temporarily adhere the “hello die cut” to strip of cardstock before covering it with VersaMark – now, you’ll have something to hold so that you won’t smudge the embossing powder or burn your fingers while using the heat tool!

Tip #3:  Hello Friend stamp set will make a lovely Christmas Card.  Versamark on Old Olive cardstock shows up darker.  With clear embossing powder, the stamped image looks like Always Artichoke, so I matted the piece with Always Artichoke cardstock and added some Natural Trim ribbon with gold metallic center.

This stamp set has lots of possibilities, and the embossing kit will give you lots of supplies to make a bunch of cards to have on hand.  All of these items are available for purchase using my on-line store.

And of course, you’ll need a pretty card to go with these pretty gifts.  Here the sentiment from All Things Thanks was used to create the focal point of the card.  As with the projects above, the medallions are decorated with die cut flowers from Jar of Love stamp set — using a second generation stamping technique using Sweet Sugarplum, Pink Pirouette and Tranquil Tide  inks on Whisper White cardstock.

Spring has sprung!

Despite a recent cold winter blast, spring is just around the corner.  Here are three great products to celebrate Easter.

Easter Messages is a gorgeous detailed stamp set with three classic Christian Easter images and two sentiments that remind us of importance of this holy season.  While, the Basket Bunch photopolymer stamp set is overflowing with basket fulls of springtime cuteness, and the coordinating Basket Builder Framelits Dies allow you to die cut stamped baskets and accent pieces in seconds using your Big Shot machine.

Here are some sample projects.  I just love the soft look of these cards using Easter Messages stamp set.  This stamp set is great for heat embossing and water coloring techniques.  The deeply etched lines in the red rubber of these stamps will give you a superior stamped impression each time.

When bundled together, this Basket Bunch Bundle with stamps and coordinating dies will save you 10% and make cards and gift giving quick and easy!

Of course, there are other stamp sets that are just right for making Easter themed cards.   The Suite Sentiments stamp set has a variety of greetings, including an Easter greeting in a large script font.  The Little Cuties stamp set has an Easter greeting, a cute chick and some cute bunny ears that would transform any stamped image into a cute Easter bunny.

I hope that I’ve inspired you with some springtime creativity because it is about time to start cruising the candy aisle looking for jelly beans, chocolate bunnies and other treats to package as a special Easter surprise for family and friends.  And of course, you can click on the shop link above to shop for any of these products in my on-line store.
