Happy Valentines Day, My Dear Friends!

I know that you know and appreciate the true joy of card making. It is the simple act of thinking of others.  It is a powerful token of affection that instantly provides a gift of wonder, warmth and joy.  And, it is appropriate for every occasion.

In this digital age, receiving a homemade card in the mail is sure to bring someone a smile, melt someone’s heart and have someone doing a happy dance at the mailbox!  A homemade card is more meaningful and personal than an email or text message.  While it may be just as attractive as a store bought card, it means a lot more because someone took the time to make it by hand, took the time to write a personal note, and took the time to put it in the mail.  Someone did all of those things just because they were thinking of you, wishing you well or thanking you for just being you.

Handmade cards are often displayed on fireplace mantels and bookcases with other collectibles.  People tend to keep handmade cards because it is a heartfelt gift, a masterpiece of art and affection.  Handmade cards are more meaningful than any present you can buy.

The Butterfly Beauty Thinlits dies are one of my favorite things from the new 2019 Occasions catalog — it can be found on page 13.  I just love the two piece delicate butterfly collage — which can be used together or separately.  Here, I just used the bolder of the two dies for a tone-on-tone look with Granite Gray die mounted on Galvanized Metallic paper dry embossed using the Corrugated embossing folder, and matted the entire piece with more Gray Granite.

Falling for Leaves Bundle

When you think of autumn, do you think of the changing leaves? Beautiful leaves create awesome fall projects.  And even though it’s not autumn everywhere in the world, everyone will love the Falling for Leaves Bundle which can be used any time of year.

Here is a closer look at this fall card designed for the avid or advanced crafter in mind.  The background is created using heat gun, Versamark ink pad, clear embossing powder and a little sponging, then it is dry embossed using Big Shot and Woodland Textured embossing folder.  The art piece is double matted, and embellished with a few die cuts and yellow ribbon.

For the beginner, check out the little Thank you note card in the lower left corner.  To create the art piece, just stamp the various leaf images in different color inks of Sahara Sand, Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay.  The sentiment is popped up with dimensionals and embellished with silver metallic threads and Tranquil Tide velvet ribbon.  The art piece is poped up on dimensions to card base made with a piece of Sahara Sand folded in half.

Snowflake Showcase — Fun with Diecuts

CM10070B

Recently, I became enchanted with these limited edition Snowfall Thinlits dies.  I have had so much fun creating beautiful projects.  This card is elegant in its simplicity — just stacking a few die cuts.  With this Early American, Amish or Scandinavian look, this card is appropriate year round.

snowfall thinlits - card 2

First, I die cut the large snowflake in Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizzazz.  Then diecut the flower in Mossy Meadow with a small heart in Real Red.  I used my Paper Snips to cut off the points of the snowflake in order to leave the rounded edge.

I used my Tombow Multi-purpose Glue (but the Fine-tip Glue Pen would be another excellent choice) to adhere and stack these die cuts.

The Hello, Friend sentiment was from the coordinating Happiness Surrounds photopolymer stamp set, which is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.

If you love snowflakes, then you need consider products in the Snowflake Showcase — with two coordinating stamp sets and dies.  These products are only available through November 30th or while supplies last.  So don’t wait — the only limit is your creativity!

Until next time, sending you crafting hugs and inspiration wishes!
