Happy 4th of July

fourth of july card

Celebrations aside, Independence Day is an important time to reflect on our country’s unique history from its people, its political leaders and its revolutionary thinkers alike.  Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are why we are so lucky to live in “The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.”  Thank you to our military, first responders and essential workers!

I hope that you are celebrating with family and friends a delicious barbecue with picnic appetizers, juicy burgers, and festive desserts — until the fireworks light up the summer night sky.   Enjoy and be safe!  I love you and appreciate you for supporting my small business!

Wishing you a fabulous Fourth of July holiday.

Celebrating Anniversaries!

celebrating sunflowers - blues with many mates

No matter what the milestone, an anniversary is always a special commemoration for a long lasting relationship. It is a day to remind us about love and what is important in life.  It sparks memories of happy times and gives us a chance to look back over the years and reflect on how the union of two people has shaped so many lives.

Making cards is a great way to celebrate anniversaries of family and friends.  After all, our friendship with them would be vastly different but for their marriage and how their marriage shaped them as individuals, as a couple and perhaps as parents.

Here is a card that I created using Celebrate Sunflower Bundle and Medallion Dies.

celebrating sunflowers - blues with many mates close up

Here is a close up showing the texture and dimension created by layering design elements.  Texture was created using the tone-on-tone layering of the Many Medallion die cut in Smoky Slate on a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock and some pearls on the flower center.  Dimension was created by layering solid and open die cuts of the Sunflower flower and leaf images and attaching those design elements in the flower center, providing the option to curl up the open petals and leaf die cuts.  Some die cut stems were added to complete the floral focal point.

celebrating sunflowers - blues with many mates I just love this card.  With a simple change of the sentiment, this card could be used to mark any special occasion or relationship.

Did you enjoyed this post? Please leave me a comment about what you liked or what you would like to see as I love to hear from you!

If you are interested in purchasing any of the items shown, please visit my online store using the links provided.   Note that stamp and die bundles save you 10% .  Orders of $50 or more will receive a FREE gift from me!

Until next time, sending you crafting hugs and inspiration wishes!

New Stampin’ Seal and Seal+ Adhesives

Introduce SEAL and SEAL+ adhesive

In case you haven’t heard the news, Stampin’ Up retired retired SNAIL Adhesive and is replacing it with a product that is even better and stronger!

Introducing Stampin’ SEAL and Stampin’ SEAL+ Adhesives.

Stampin’ SEAL is an every-day adhesive that bonds instantly and neatly, like SNAIL, yet stronger than SNAIL.  This adhesive is laid down neatly in tiny perforated rectangles, so no more balls of glue sticking to your project.

Stampin’ SEAL+ is a super-strength adhesive, similar to Fast Fuse. It is perfect for heavier layers or 3D projects.  This adhesive is also laid down with tiny perforated rectangles for easy separation after using your tape runner.

GET MORE ADHESIVE!  Change is hard, but one feature that you are going to just love is that both SEAL and SEAL+ Adhesives include 16.4 yds. (15 m) adhesive vs. SNAIL Adhesive’s 13.1 yds. (12 m). That’s about 9-feet more adhesive!  More adhesive for more crafting fun!

Both adhesives come with the exact same clear ergonomic-designed case, that is easy to hold and is easy to swap out the refill cartridges.  The refill cartridges are easily identifiable on your desk top — light blue for SEAL and dark blue for SEAL+.  And, they come with a re-sealable pouch to store it when no in use or to protect it when crafting on-the-go!

I have been using these new tape runners for about a week, and I absolutely love them.  To order, simply visit my online store and shop our extensive collection of adhesives.  It is so important to have the right adhesive in order to achieve the best results on your project.  Sometimes, I use 2-3 different adhesives to ensure that all my design elements are attached securely and neatly.

Stampin Rewards

We are in unprecedented times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Unfortunately, some products will not be available at the launch of the catalog, such as our new cutting and embossing machines.   Some products will sell out quickly because many of our suppliers, like those companies that make our inkpad cases and ink refill bottles, are busy making plastic medical supplies.  To comply with federal and local guidance for the protection of workers, Stampin’ Up warehouse has reduced the number of workers per work shift while adding additional work shifts.  Unfortunately, shipments are running on a 5+ day delay from the warehouse.  If you really, really want to receive your order quickly, please choose “express shipping” at checkout with the understanding that there may be shipping delays by UPS, who is federally mandated to prioritize shipments of critical supplies first.  These are definitely unusual times, so thank you in advance for your understanding and patience.

PLACING AN ORDER TODAY?  If you are placing an order for $150 or more, I want you to enjoy all of the Host Rewards you have earned.  If your order is less than $150, I’d love for you please add this Host Code –  – when prompted. Thank you!

Until next time, sending you crafting hugs and inspiration wishes!

Stampin’ Spot Tips and Tricks

stampin spots ideas

If you love card kits or if you are (or have been) a Pumpkin Paper subscriber, then you probably have a collection of Stampin’ Spots.  These are the little 1″ inch pads are supper handy to own!  Here are some fun techniques to prove that some of the best things come in tiny packages.

  • Block Background:  Use the ink spot as a stamp. Grab some fun colors.  Turn over the Stampin’ Spot and apply it directly to the paper for the cutest card on the block.
  • Tasteful Texture: To mimic the wood grain, swipe the Stampin’ Spot across the stamps instead of pressing the stamp to the ink.
  • Layered Colors: Use the Stamparatus and apply the darkest colors around the edges of the image. Stamp. Clean the stamp and apply a lighter color in the center. Stamp again to create the look of a multicolored markered image.
  • Distressed Edging:  Swipe the ink spot over the edge of the cardstock – using the same swiping motion as a sponge or dauber – to define a layer or to create a distressed look.
  • Create a water color palette:  Apply small square of ink on a large acrylic block or window sheet and lift the color using a blender pen or a Clear Wink of Stella brush.

Other great advantages:

  • Fast drying, dye-based ink that coordinates with Stampin’ Up! cardstock, markers, and embellishments
  • The raised pads makes it easy to ink any size of rubber stamp.  To ensure good coverage, simply use a circular motion to tap ink onto the stamp.
  • Travel-sized and compact so that you are always ready to Stamp-on-the-go!
  • Stampin’ Spots are cost effective alternative for new stampers who want to get started with a smaller investment or stampers who may have limited storage space.
  • And, you can make your own small ink pads in the colors you need with Uninked Stampin’ Spots and Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills.  Just add 10-12 drops from the ink refill bottle and it is ready to use.  Similarly, you can re-ink the ink spots that you already own.

Until next time, sending you crafting hugs and inspiration wishes for a spot of color!
